Cosmic Q&A

What is JVM?

Answer

JVM stands for Java Virtual Machine. Java Virtual Machine provides a virtual machine on top of Operating system and handles interaction between Java program artifacts and system level calls. It helps to manage memory allocation and garbage collection, conversion from byte code into machine code etc. Each platform will have it's own JVM so the Java program written for one machine can easily run in another machine, because of JVM.
